My name is Rebecca Gale. Born disabled, I'm now in my 30's and I get around using a wheelchair. My greatest achievement to date is a bronze medal from the 1996 Paralympic Games, although I am always aiming higher.

I went to Lord Mayor Treloar college and whilst there achieved my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold medals. At LMTC I started my glass engraving business which lasted a number of years until my eyes became weaker. After LMTC I joined WAMDSAD, the disabled sports association for Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead district where I was able to continue with Archery. My enthusiasm and success in this sport continued and I was talent spotted at a national competition which gave me the opportunity to work my way to the top of the game. In 1996 I competed in the Atlanta Paralympic Games and won a bronze medal for Archery.

After that exciting activity I needed a boost to do something else. I thought it would be nice to do a parachute jump to raise money for LMTC and WAMDSAD as helping other people makes me feels good. I appreciate all the help I've been given and now give back to help others achieve their goals by being part of the fund raising committee at WAMDSAD. In addition, my new challenge is rowing.
My mottoes for life are "Sieze the Day" and "Go for Life". Anyone can do anything. If you really want something, you can!
