| REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENTS |
 |
Reflexology
Reflexology is a natural holistic therapy that helps to bring the
body back into balance and promote healing. By unblocking any congestion
in the natural energy flows throughout our bodies, reflexology aims
to restore the functional and emotional status-quo.
Just as with massage, this type of treatment stimulates the circulation
system as well as nerve endings. This encourages a state of relaxation,
reducing stress and promoting wellbeing.
It involves a stimulating pressure being applied to reflex points
found on the feet (or hands), which correspond to each organ, gland
or part of the whole body. The purpose of treating holistically is
so that the cause of the problem can be given focus and not just the
symptoms.
What are the benefits of Reflexology?
- Improves circulation ensuring a steady and fresh blood supply rich
in oxygen and a flush of lymphatic fluids throughout the body. This
in turn can reduce blood pressure, coldness in the hands and feet,
fatigue and achiness, and remove swelling and unwanted metabolic waste
by-products
- Strengthens the body's immune system through the release and elimination
of waste by-products and toxins
- Rebalances the body's natural energy flows - clearing blockages
that may have manifest through trauma, disease or stress
- Speeds up the natural healing process
- Helps to maintain good health
- Promotes a feeling of relaxation, by reducing stress and tension
What to expect from a Reflexology
treatment
During the first visit, a brief medical history will be taken. It
is advisable to wear loose fitting clothing and you will be required
to remove your shoes and socks (unless hands are being treated). You
will be seated on a reclining chair or couch for the session, and
a precise pressure will be applied to all reflex points on both feet,
with additional work over reflexes pertinent to the condition being
treated. Additional techniques may be used during Fertility and Maternity
Reflexology treatments.
Most people find the session extremely relaxing and many fall into
a restful sleep during the treatment. Tenderness may be experienced
on reflex points where energies are blocked, but this is quite normal.
For some people minor reactions to treatment often occur, but they
will usually pass within 48 hours. Many people who try it, do find
that reflexology is beneficial to some level whether it helps to completely
clear the problem, relieve the symptoms or pain, or just help them
feel better.
Although a single session in itself can be extremely relaxing, it
is advisable to bear in mind that a course of treatment will most
likely be required to assist with many conditions, particularly if
they have been experienced for a long time. This said, you should
start to see some benefits from treatment quite early.
Fertility & Maternity Reflexology
Maternity Reflexology can be very successful in helping throughout
the reproductive process, from Infertility -
Pre-conception - Antenatal - Postnatal.
Infertility can be deeply distressing and permeate all aspects of
life. Fertility treatment is full of uncertainty and can be stressful,
daunting, expensive and take the individuals involved on a roller
coaster of emotions. Reflexology has an excellent reputation for helping
sub-fertile couples to conceive.
As the female body goes through the huge changes and adaptation necessary
during and after pregnancy they are often challenged with a number
of conditions and discomforts both physically and emotionally, which
Reflexology can help to ease in a non-invasive and natural way.
The general principle of Fertility & Maternity Reflexology is
very similar, but a typical treatment will be gentler, than that of
standard Reflexology and is adapted to suit the individual and conditions
present. Also, additional special techniques may be used during a
session, for example, endocrine balancing and the lymphatic technique
to help balance the hormones and movement of fluids throughout the
body during pregnancy.
Treatments can be undertaken throughout the pregnancy and if the pregnancy
goes well beyond term there are techniques that, with the permission
of the obstetric care-giver, can be used to try to prime labour.
What are the benefits of Fertility
& Maternity Reflexology?
- Feels relaxing whilst providing a healing touch
- Can reduce toxin levels, moderate swelling, high blood pressure
and time spent in labour
- Eases many minor ailments of pregnancy, such as morning sickness,
back ache, heartburn, constipation, sore feet, etc.
- Helps to create a more normal balance of hormones, optimal conditions
for conception, pregnancy and birthing
- Effective reduction of stress and anxiety - a major factor in infertility
Who can benefit from Fertility &
Maternity Reflexology?
Fertility & Maternity Reflexology can help during pre-conception,
antenatal and postnatal phases by naturally bringing the body back
into balance. In particular, Reflexology has an excellent reputation
for helping sub-fertile couples to conceive. |
