BoneWork

Bone

BoneWork is another ground-breaking approach developed by Sharon Wheeler, that looks at the fascial (connective tissue) plasticity of bone and aims to integrate it. There are two main areas of focus: Bone Change and Bone Rolling.

Bone Change

The techniques are designed to address, shape and contour the bones with precisely placed manual pressure into the fascial elements of the bone. The chronic distortions left over from badly healed breaks in the bone, or scars in the bone are focused on in an attempt to transform them towards normal. Results appear to be permanent.

Bone Rolling

Accidents and injuries can disorganise the functional relationships between bones. Bones can get stuck together and out of place causing chronic dysfunction. These bone-to-bone adhesions are at the level of the fascia of the periosteum (bone sheath). In Bone Rolling, deep manual pressure is precisely directed through the periosteal adhesion to release the stuck bone. The bones are then free to move or “roll” into a better relationship within the structure of the fascial web. There are Bone Rolling techniques for most of the bone-to-bone relationships of the body and it aims to result in profound, lasting structural shifts.
